TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR NEW TATTOO... HOW IT HEALS DEPENDS ON YOU!

LEAVE TATTOO BANDAGED FOR 2-5 HOURS.

  • It will not be necessary to bandage again.

1) WASH TATTOO 3 TIMES A DAY FOR THE NEXT 3 DAYS.

  • Wash Tattoo for several minutes with hot water and a non-scented antibacterial soap. Rinse well with cold water. Pat Dry. Let Air Dry for 5-10 minutes if possible.
  • WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND H2OCEAN LOTION: You can be as liberal with the lotion as you want! Make sure that you rub the lotion in entirely! Use lotion EVERY 2 HOURS….Do not let the tattoo get too dry, as this will cause the tattoo to scab and result in color loss.
  • DO NOT USE NEOSPORINE OR A TRIPLE ANTIBODIC OINTMENT!!

Triple antibiotic ointments are too strong and cause loss of color. We normally do not recommend ointments at all as a form of healing. This is because the tattoo stays too “wet” and ointments contain petroleum which clogs the pores and does not allow the tattoo to fully breathe. H2Ocean lotion is a “moist” method of healing and allows the skin to breathe and will not clog the pores, plus it can not be over used.

3) AFTER DAY 3, CONTINUE TO WASH TATTOO ONCE A DAY & CONTINUE TO USE H2OCEAN LOTION AS DIRECTED ABOVE.

4) TATTOO SHOULD PEEL LIKE A SUNBURN WITHIN 5-10 DAYS.

  • Peeling is your tattoos way of shedding off the top dead layer of skin. DO NOT PICK AT THE PEELING!! Helping the tattoo peel by picking at it only results in serious spots of color loss. Washing it daily with hot water will help loosen this peeling and ease itching.

5) CONTINUE USING H2OCEAN LOTION WHEN TATTOO STARTS PEELING.

  • When tattoo starts to peel, it is important that you continue to moisturize with the H2Ocean lotion! KEEP USING LOTION SEVERAL TIMES A DAY FOR AT LEAST THE FIRST MONTH
  • Dry skin can cause the color to crack. IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO OMIT THIS STEP IN HEALING. PUMP THE LOTION TO IT!!

IMPORTANT NO ~ NO’S:

KEEP TATTOO OUT OF SUN OR TANNING BEDS FOR FIRST FEW WEEKS.

  • Always but always keep Sunscreen on your tattoo when exposed to UV Light, no matter how old the tattoo is. UV LIGHT FADES TATTOOS!

DO NOT IMMERSE TATTOO IN CHLORINE WATER (Pools, Hot Tubs, Etc.)

  • Chlorine contains bleach and chemicals that can cause color to fade. Pools, Hot tubs, Lake water, etc. all harbor germs that can put your new tattoo at risk for infection.

A WORD ABOUT TOUCH ~ UPS:

  • Occasionally some tattoos may require a touch-up, especially on heavily colored pieces or tribal. Touch-Ups are Free for 90 days. Touch-Ups are not free however if the tattoo has been exposed to sun, tanning beds, chlorine, hot tubs, picking of the skin while healing or simple negligence in taking proper care of the tattoo during the healing process.
  • TOUCH-UPS ARE DONE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY AND MUST BE TOUCHED UP BY THE ARTIST THAT DID THE INTIAL TATTOO. NO TOUCH UPS ON FRI. OR SAT.
